Adrenocortical macronodular hyperplasia is a rare cause of Cushing's syndrome. High-resolution computerised tomographic (CT) scanning typically demonstrates adrenal nodules that coexist with a variable degree of bilateral adrenal hyperplasia. Plasma ACTH levels tend to be low and intermittently undetectable.
